TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
Traditional Chinese medicine, often abbreviated as TCM, is one of the oldest and most fascinating medical-philosophical corpus in the world. It is a very complex holistic discipline and distant from our cultural conceptions, but that has nevertheless made a breach in the interest of the West, for a long time now. In a reductive way, key concepts of traditional Chinese medicine are: Qi, Tao, the relationship between Yin and Yang, the five elements and their phases and meridians.
All these factors are in correlation with each other in a multiplicity of different solutions.
The state of disease comes from the perturbation of the energy balance. If the prevention of the subject and the doctor have not been sufficient to restore the state of well-being, traditional Chinese medicine can intervene through various therapies, among which the best known are Chinese pharmacology, acupuncture, massage and medical gymnastics, in the forms known as Qi gong and Tai chi chuan.
Traditional Chinese medicine is designed for an individual interested in the well-being of the body and psyche, considered as a fundamental unity. Often traditional Chinese medicine is able to reduce side effects of very painful therapies and there have been numerous cases of patients being treated with traditional Chinese medicine after chemotherapy or long and invasive therapies.
