ENERGETIC GYMNASTICS
Energy gymnastics integrates postural work with relaxation and proper breathing and has been practiced for thousands of years in China and throughout the East for the maintenance of both physical and psychological well-being. Another of the names by which it is known is Qi Gong, which can be translated as "work on energy" or "work with vital energy". According to Traditional Chinese Medicine in fact, to ensure the well-being of every living being is the proper circulation of Qi, a kind of life energy that is distributed in the body through the meridians, just as water flows in the irrigation channels.
Practicing the exercises of the Energetic Gymnastics allows to obtain many benefits: it strengthens the muscles, loosens the joints, rebalances the nervous system, promotes blood circulation, helps the drainage of toxins, decreases stress and improves the quality of sleep. There are different series of exercises, some of which can be performed in a static position and others in movement, also favoring the capacity of mental concentration and a better perception of oneself.
Precisely because of its characteristics, Energy Gymnastics can be practiced by people of all ages, offering everyone a wide range of benefits, favored by careful and constant practice.
As it is easy to imagine, a discipline with a millenary history that has spread over an immense continent like Asia has many ways of performing it and many interpretations, which have developed over the centuries according to the different habits of the practitioners and the territory that hosted them or the founding masters, all of them have, however, some characteristics in common, among which the use of slow and ample movements that favor a deep breathing using the diaphragm and a better energetic nourishment of muscles, tendons, joints and internal organs, certainly stands out.
The slow and conscious movements also act on the psychological and emotional state of the practitioner, who during the practice session matures a greater tranquility and awareness of the "here and now" and a greater awareness of the "self", allowing a better focus on personal conditions and the surrounding environment. In addition to this, the exercises of Energy Gymnastics promote a more correct posture, better balance and coordination of movements.
